Karl Ziegler (Tenor) (Karlsruhe 1886 - Vienna 1944)

At the Stadttheater Hamburg from 1913 to 1917, next in Frankfurt, where he participated in the world premiere of Schreker's ''Die Gezeichneten'', then at the Wiener Staatsoper from 1919 to 1922; as a guest, he continued singing at the Staatsoper until 1937. In the 1930s, he was among the first singers to gain popularity through radio appearances; at this time, he was more and more specializing in operetta.
