Ludovico Oliviero (Tenor) (11. Jan. 1886 Palermo, † 25. Febr. 1948 New York)

Brother of the tenor Elvino Ventura (1875-1931). He studied in Milan and made his debut at the Teatro Regio of Turin. In the 1912-1917 seasons he was engaged by the La Scala to appear as comprimario. In 1918 he became a member of the Chicago Opera, where he worked 18 years. He made guest appearances in San Francisco and Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón, 1926-1927). In 1936 he was engaged by the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where he sang up to his death (beginning part: Remendado in ‘’Carmen’’).
