Erik Enderlein (Tenor) (Dresden 1887 - ?)




One of the most important German heldentenors; unfortunately, the records he left are few and scarce. Born February 18th, 1887, in Dresden; from 1912 on, he sang at the Dresden Opera as a lyrical tenor. In 1918, he moved on to Schwerin, now as a heldentenor, and in 1919 to Hamburg. In 1926, he became a member of the Städtische Oper Berlin. Successful guest appearances in Rome, Vienna, at the Bayreuthand Zoppot festivals. After his career, he lived as a teacher in Berlin. On his death, nothing seems to be known. He also appears as Emil Enderlein.
