David Stockman (Tenor) (Göteborg 1879 - Stockholm 1951)

He studied in Breslau, making his début in 1906 as Wilhelm Meister (‘’Mignon’’) at the Royal Opera, Stockholm, where he was engaged until 1942. He was the first Swedish Chénier, Mârouf, Hermann (‘’The Queen of Spades’’) and Gennaro (‘’I gioielli della Madonna’’); he also sang Romeo, Raoul (‘’Les Huguenots’’). He created in 1909 for Sweden the part of the Tristan in R. Wagner's ''Tristan und Isolde''. In 1918 he received the order 'Litteris et artibus', in 1929 he became a Swedish court singer.
