She studied in Madrid under Lorenzo Simonetti and made her debut in 1914 in Madrid in the Zarzuela ''Marina'' by Pascual Arietta. In 1917 she came for the first time to Italy and appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Roma with great success as Rosina in G. Rossini's ''Il Barbiere di Siviglia''. She made guest appearances in other Italian theatres and joined in 1918 to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires . In the 1919-1920 season she was to be found again in Italy . In 1921 she undertook as the first soprano with the Scotti Grand Opera Company a North American tour. Antonio Scotti provided an engagement for her to the New York Metropolitan Opera. Here she made her debut in 1922 in G. Rossini's ''Il Barbiere di Siviglia''. Although she appeared with great success at the Metropolitan Opera, she remained only during one season there. In 1923 she performed at the Teatro Reale in Roma ; in the 1924-1925 season she travelled around Spain andSouth America . In Denmark she sang with sensational success and was called a ''Spanish nightingale''. After her marriage in 1926 she retired from the stage, however, gave in her Spanish native country concerts. Since 1941 she devoting herself to teaching; Marimi del Pozo, Pilar Lorengar, Maria Luisa Naché and Consuelo Rubio belonged to her pupils. She was appointed as a professor of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. From 1960 to 1971 she worked as a professor of the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico.
