Her real name was Concepción Rodriguez. She made her debut in 1925 at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona and sang there during the following years roles like Carmen, Amneris in ''Aida'', Leonora in G. Donizetti's ''La Favorita'' and Azucena in ''Il Trovatore''. Guest performances inMadrid , Lisbon and in other Spanish towns let her name become known. In 1929 she went to Italy, where she appeared in Ancona , Bologna , Ravenna and Cremona . At the Opera House in Rome she performed in G. Bizet's ''Carmen''. Also at the Opera House in Nice she was to be heard as a guest. In 1937 she sang for a season at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires; here she appeared in ''Rigoletto'', ''Falstaff'', ''Hansel and Gretel'' and in the premiere of the opera ''Lucretia'' of Guastalla. In 1937 she gave in Germany guest performances at the Municipal Theatres of Bremen andAugsburg . In Spain she was a very much popular Zarzuela singer and her voice was compared with the voice of Conchita Supervia. Beside her work as a singer she was also estimated as a painter and introduced her paintings on several exhibits.
