Willy Schüller (Tenor)

He began his stage career in 1902 at the Municipal Theatre of Essen and went from there to appear in the 1904-06 seasons at the Vienna Volksoper. Then he was engaged during a season by the Lortzing Theatre in Berlin and undertook in the 1907-08 season an USA tour. After his return he lived in Berlin, from where he guested in numerous German stages and carried out in 1910 a Holland tour. In the 1911-12 season he took over the management of Wilhelm-Theaters in Magdeburg in which he also appeared as a singer. About the other activities of the artist who was married the soprano Hanna Mara nothing can be determined. His repertoire included roles like the Tamino in ‘’The Magic flute’’, Lyonel in Flotow’s ‘’Martha’’, Fenton in ‘’Lustigen Weibern von Windsor’’ of Nicolai, Faust in ‘’Faust’’ of Gounod, José in ‘’Carmen’’ and Turiddu in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’.
