Emma Tegani (Soprano) (Piacenza, Italia April 6, 1910 - ? Nov. 27, 1997)




She received her education by D. Benedetto in Milano and in 1938 made her debut at the Teatro Puccini in Lucca. The same year she appeared at the Italian Opera in Holland as Nedda in ‘’Pagliacci’’ and Donna Anna in ‘’Don Giovanni’’. In 1942 her La Scala debut occurred as Liu in ‘’Turandot’’ opposite Gina Cigna and Giacomo Lauri-Volpi. In the future she sang parts of lyric soprano at the famous Italian opera houses. In 1947 she guested in Cambridge Theatre in London as Alice Ford in G. Verdi’s ‘’Falstaff’’. The same role she sang also in 1951 at the Verdi-commemorative celebrations in Busseto. Still in 1954 she appeared La Scala. She was a niece of the baritone Riccardo Tegani.
