Elisa Gatti Porcinai (Soprano)



From 1920’s to 1930’s she had a successful career as a lyric and dramatic sopranoin the famous opera stages of the Italian province. Thus she sang in 1926 at Teatro Verdi of Pisathe role of Suzel in Mascagni’s ‘’Amico Fritz’’ together with Tino Folgar, in 1931 in the same opera house she appeared as Maddalena in ‘’Andrea Chénier’’ of Giordano. Then she retired from the stage for five years and sang again only  in 1936, again as Maddalena at the Teatro Del Giglio of Lucca. Then she sang the role of Maddalena in ‘’Andrea Chenier’’ in 1939 at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa. She has appeared after her marriage also under the name Elisa Gatti-Porcinai.
