Pupil of the teacher Cima he made his debut in 1896 at Comunale of Padua as Canio in Pagliacci. Leoncavallo  in a 1907 private letter, besides in a friendly way thanking the artist of the received regards, he declared to consider him the ideal interpreter of the role of Canio.
