Polikarp Orlov (Bass) (Kirovograd 1864 - ?)

The real name of this forgotten russian bass-baritone was Polikarp Davidovich Kulchinsky. He was born in a family of a priest. Since 1890 Orlov appeared on opera stages of Kharkov (antreprenor A. A. Tsereteli, 1899-1902), St. Petersburg (Private Russian Opera, Mariinsky Theatre 1902-1903, National House 1907-1908), Odessa (antreprenor I. Grekov 1892-1893), Moscow (Bolshoi Theatre 1894-1900, S. Zimin’s Opera 1909), Rostov-on-Don (1900), Elisavetgrad (1905), Smolensk (1907), Ekaterinburg (Company of opera singers 1909), Pyatigorsk (1910), Tomsk and Irkutsk (1914). He created in Odessa the role of Surin in ‘’Pique dame’’ of Tchaikovsky. Since 1914 Orlov lived in Kiev.
