Child of the baritone Dante Bolis and nephew of the great tenor Luigi Bolis, he studied in Milan with the teacher Cairone and, choosing the stage name Luigi Fagnani, he mede his debut in 1900 at the Guillaume of Brescia as Armando in ''Papa Martin'' of A.Cagnoni. After some years he passed to the operetta. In 1908, while he was in Buenos Ayres, engaged for a season of operettas, he was listened by the owner of the theater Marconi that engaged him and he did him debut in the following season, this time with his true name. He remained in career at least up to 1925.
