Emilio Ghirardini (Ghilardini) (Baritone) (Ferrara 1885 - Ferrara 1965)




He studied singing under Lelio Casini and made his debut in 1906 at  the Teatro Verdi of Trieste in ''Canticum Canticorum'' of E. Bossi. Later he moved with his family to Argentina. The first part of his career developed entirely in South America and he appeared a the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, Chile, also at the Municipal Theatres of Rio de Janeiro and Havana. He returned to Italy at the end of 1916, for military service, took part in the Great War and subsequently decided to continue his career in Italy. After the withdrawal, which occurred around 1950, dedicated himself to teaching. He was the teacher of Renata Scotto and Luis Alva.
