Alessandro Scalabrini (Tenor) (Verona 1875? - ?)




He was born in Verona and studied there with Camozzini. Before his debut, he sang in some private recitals and he made his debut in 1901 at the Sociale at Sassuolo as Manrico in ‘’Il Trovatore’’. He was engaged many times and for long period in touring opera companies such as Lambardi or Gonzales and sang in many east European and American opera  houses. As a member of Lombardi Opera Company in 1909 he appeared in Los Angeles at the Auditorium Theatre  in ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’ as Turiddu with Elvira Campoli, Angelo Antola and A. Giana. Here he also appeared in 1910. This time as Manrico in ‘’Il Trovatore’’ with famous soprano Ester Adaberto and Dolores Frau. In USA he always sang with great success.
