Lucia Crestani (Soprano) (Verona 1886 - Ferrara 1972)




She was a pupil of the pedagogue Vittorio Gelich. She made her debut in 1904 at the Teatro Carignano in Turin as Aida. In 1905 she already sang at La Scala, Milan in ‘‘Lreley’’ of Catalani. In 1906 she sang at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo as Stephana in ‘’Siberia’’, in 1907 at the Teatro Regio in Parma as Aida. She guested with success also in other famous Italian opera stages (Teatro Comunale Bologna (1908 as Aida), Teatro Fenice Venice (1908), Teatro Liceo in Barcelona (1910, Aida). In 1907 she had guested at the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires. In 1910 she appeared at the Teatro Kedivhiale in Cairo. In 1913 she travelled with the Western Metropolitan Opera Company North America. During the First World War and during the 1920s she continued her career in the big Italian stages. In 1924 she sang at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona in Verdi's ‘’Requiem’’. Later she worked as a pedagogue first in Verona, since 1934 in Ferrara.
