Augusta Garcia (Soprano) (France 1895 - ?)




She made her debut in 1917 and sang primarily at the leading opera houses of the French province. In 1922 she joined to the Paris Opéra-Comique. There her repertoire included Philine in ‘’Mignon’’, Mireille, Lakmé, Manon, Antonia in ‘’Les Contes d'Hoffmann’’ and Mimi in ‘’La Bohème’’. Her younger sister Olympe Garcia-Frappa was also an opera singer and she made her debut in 1923 at the Opéra-Comique as an Agnèle in ‘’Gismonda’’ of Henri Février.
