Willy Treffner (Tenor) (July 5, 1903 Kraków, Poland - ?)



He was a student of the Technical college in Vienna. The same time he also studied singing and made his debut at the Stadttheater in Plauen as Turiddu in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’ (1927?). His repertoire included Belmonte in "Entführung aus dem Serail", Don Ottavio in ‘’Don Giovanni’’, Tamino in "Zauberflöte", Duke in ‘’Rigoletto’’, Almaviva in ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’, Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’, Faust, Turiddu in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’ and other parts. Since 1940 he was a member of the Wien Volksoper. He made successful guest appearances in BerlinLeipzig and Hamburg. After his reitrement he lived in Austria. Still in the 1960’s with he made some appearances inDresden.
