Willy Merkel (Tenor) (17. August 1869 Niederrabenstein/Sachsen, † 11. April 1915 Berlin)



His brother was the famous tenor Richard Merkel, who created the part of Canio in ''Pagliacci'' at the Hoftheater in Gotha. First he appeared as baritone. He sang at the opera houses of Aachen, Augsburg, Bayreuth, Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt/Main, Freiburg/Breisgau, Glogau/Schlesien, Hamburg, Leipzig, Mannheim, Tallinn, and Weimar.
