Carl Fredrik Lundqvist (Tenor/Baritone) (January 24, 1841 Veinge, Halland; died May 12, 1920 Stockholm, Sweden)





He studied singing under Fritz Arlberg in Stockholm. As a member of choir of the Royal Opera in Stockholm he sang in 1865 in the Swedish première of ‘’Rienzi’’. In 1869 his debut was happened at the Stockholm Opera in ‘’Joseph’’ by Méhul. Till 1874 he remained active in this opera house as tenor, then changed to baritone and worked at the Stockholm Opera longer than thirty years till 1904. His repertoire included Jago in ‘’Otello’’, Alfio in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’, Hans Sachs in "Meistersingern", wolfram in ‘’Tannhäuser’’ and Amonasro in ‘’Aida’’. In 1892 he appeared at the Stockholm opera in the premiere of the opera "Granadas Dotter" by Ivar Hallström. In 1877 he sang in the premiere of the opera "Vikingarna" written by same composer.
