Emma Vilmar-Hansen (Mezzo-Soprano) (1885 ? - ?)




She was trained at the conservatoires of Geneva and Paris. In 1910 she made her debut at theStadttheater in  Metz, where she appeared till 1912. In the 1912-1913 season she sang at theStadttheater in Essen, then in the 1913-1915 seasons she was engaged by the Hofoper in Berlin. From 1915 to 1925 she performed with success at the Städtischen Opernhaus in Berlin. In the 1927-1928 season she was a member of the Opernhauses in Dusseldorf. In 1911 at the Bayreuth Festival she appeared in R. Wagner’s "Walküre" and ‘’Parsifal’’. In 1916 she sang at the Hofoper in Dresden. In 1926 she appeared at the German première of M. de Falla’s opera ‘’La vida breve’’ at the  Landestheater in Gera (Thüringen). Her repertoire included Carmen, Azucena in ‘’Il Trovatore’’, Magdalene in "Meistersingern", Fides in  "Propheten"  by G. Meyerbeer and Jokaste in "Oedipus Rex" by I. Strawinsky (Berlin, 1928). She was married to the actor Paul Hansen (1886-1967). She worked after end of her stage career as a pedagogue at the Salzburg Mozarteum.
