Agostino Casavecchi (Tenor) (? 1900 - ?)

He began his career during the 1920’s and came in 1929 received his first important success when he sang the role of Pinkerton in ‘’Madama Butterfly’’ at the Teatro Massimo, Palermo as a partner of Japanese soprano Nobuko Hara. During the following years he appeared primarily in Italian provincial theaters in parts. In 1937 he made guest appearances  at the Italian opera house in Holland; there he sang in ‘’La Bohème’’, ‘’Rigoletto’’, ‘’ Barbiere di Siviglia’’ and sang in the première of the opera ‘’Le Preziose ridicole’’ of Lattuada. In the 1941-42 season he sang at La Scala among other things the role of Cassio in t’’Otello’’ and the Leukippos in the Italian première of ‘’Daphne’’ of R. Strauss, also made appearance in the première ‘’Carmina burana’’ of C. Orff. After the second world war he appeared in French theaters like the opera houses of Toulouse, Bordeaux, Marseille and at the Opéra de Wallonie in Lüttich.
