Aline Vallandri (Soprano) (Paris 1878 – Paris 1952)





She studied at the Paris Conservatory under Isnardon. She made her debut in 1904 at the Opéra-Comique, Paris in ‘’Mireille’’ of Gounod. During nearly thirty years she had in this opera house significant success. In 1906 she sang at the Opéra-Comique in the premiere of the opera ‘’Le Roi Aveugle’’ of Henri Févier. She created here several other operas (among other things in 1907 ‘’La Légende du Point d'Argenton’’ of F. Fourdrain) and became in parts like Manon, Mélisande, Micaela in ‘’Carmen’’, Ensoleilad in ‘’Chérubin’’ of Massenet, Traviata, Donna Elvira in ‘’Don Giovanni’’, Rosenn in ‘’Le Roi d'Ys’’ of Lalo, Euridice in ‘’Orpheus’’ and Mireille. The last-called part sang also in 1906 at the festival in the arena of Arles. In 1909 and 1918 she appeared at the Grand Opéra in Paris. Guest performances followed at the opera house of Monte Carlo (1907), at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels (1911), in Lisbonand Ostend as well as at the Théâtre Lyrique in Paris. In 1911 she sang at Covent Garden in ‘’Quo vadis?’’ of Nouguès. In 1921 she guested at the opera house of Cologneas Louise in the opera of the same name of Charpentier. In 1922 she sang this part at a guest performance in Zurich. Also as a concert soprano she had a big career.
