Vladimiro Badiali (Tenor) (Modena, Italy 1904 - ?)

The name of this totally forgotten tenor is usually associated on the wab with the name of the famous spanish tenor Giacomo Aragall, who travelled to Milan on a scholarship from the Liceu to study with him. Among his pupils was Giuseppe Giacomini, the great italian international tenor, Genovese lyrico-spinto tenor Ottavio Garaveta and tenor Bruno Prevedi who sang widely in Italy. Approximately from 1930 to 1950 he had a prolific career in different italian opera houses. In 1930 he appeared at the Teatro Lirico in Milan in ‘’La Boheme’’ and ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’ sharing the roles of Rodolfo and Turridu with Franco Corbetta. In the same year, there together with Rosina Sasso, Giuseppe Sardo and Marchi Farina he performed at the Teatro della Commenda again in ‘’La Boheme’’ and ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’. In 1931 he moved to Rome and sang at the Teatro Adriano as Duke in ‘’Rigoletto’’ and as Elvino in ‘’La Sonnambula’’. He repeated the role of Duke also at the Teatro Comunale in Forlì. In 1933 he guested in Schio where at the Teatro Civico appeared in V. Bellini’s ‘’La Sonnambula’’. During his career he sang also in Pistoia, Ast, Genoa and Venezia. Badiali retired from the stage probably in 1950. He made a few records under the name of Bruno Garbi for Excelsius.
