Gertrud Runge (Soprano) (Brandenburg, Germany 1880 † Weimar, Germany 7. 8. 1948)


                                                                           Carmen

She studied singing with Mrs. Danker-Dreyschock and Felix Schmidt in Berlin. In 1902 she made her debutat the Stadttheater in Kiel and and the next year joined to the Hoftheater in Weimar, where she sang till 1913. In the 1913-1918 seasons  she was engaged by the Hoftheater in Mannheim. She made guest appearances  as Carmen and Traviata at different german operatic theaters, among other things in 1904 at the Hoftheater of Wiesbaden, since 1905 several times in Leipzig, in 1908 at the Hoftheater in Schwerin and in 1920 again appeared in Weimar. In the 1925-1926 season she was a member of the Berlin Volksoper. Later she was active as journalist. Since 1902 she was married the lieutenant, a son of the Prussian minister of war. She spent her old age at the Marie Seebach-Stift in Weimar.
