Georges (Georgy) Pozemkovsky (Tenor) (St. Petersburg, Russia 21 November 1892 - Paris, France 7 May 1958)

From 1912 to 1917 he studied singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and made his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre as Lensky in P. Tchaikovsky's ''Eugene Onegin'' (1916). Here he appeared till 1919. In 1920 he went abroad. From 1920 to 1930's he was a soloist of the Russian Opera in Paris. He made guest appearances in Belgium, Switzerland, Nice (1921, 1930's), Monte Carlo (1925), Barcelona (1924, 1925, 1927, 1929), Berlin, Leipzig (1928), London (1931), USA and South America. In 1922 he sang at the Grand Opéra in Paris in the world premiere of the opera ''Tarass Boulba'' by Samuel-Rousseau. His repertoire included Faust, Lensky in ''Eugene Onegin'', Hermann in ''The Queen of Spades'', Sadko, Prince in "Rusalka", Grigori in "Boris Godunov", Duke in ''Rigoletto''.
