Franco Zaccarini (Bass) (Milano, Italia 1890 - ? 1942)




He studied singing at the Liceo Musicale of Santa Cecilia in Roma and  made his debut in 1919 at the Teatro Comunale in Carpi as Roucher in ‘’Andrea Chenier’’. In 1922 he sang during a season at the Paleis voor Volksvljit in Amsterdam and between 1920 and 1930 had a significant career at the Italian provincial operatic stages. In 1924 he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Roma as Colline in ‘’La Bohème’’ and Bramino in ‘’Africaine’’. In the 1931-1932 season he sang at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genvoa among other things the part of Fiesco in ‘’Simon Boccanegra’’ and Wallace in ‘’La Fanciulla del West’’. In the 1935-1938 seasons he appeared at La Scala in Milano in the followings operas: ‘’Turandot’’ (Timur), ‘’Wally’’ (Stromminger), ‘’Aida’’ (Ramfis) and ‘’Tosca’’ (Angelotti). He retired from the stage in 1941.
