She studied singing at the
Lviv Conservatory under Valery Wysocki. In 1905 she made her debut at the Lviv
Opera House in "Chopin" by G. Orefice. After a period of performances
in Lviv and Kraków in 1907 she was engaged by the Warsaw Opera. In 1909-1916
seasons she performed in Italy , Spain and United
States . She sang in Bergamo , Turin , Geneva , Budapest , Madrid , Barcelona ,
Vienna and other European cities, often together with the
greatest opera singers of her time with major successes. In 1917, she returned
to Warsaw . In Warsaw , she sang a very vast repertoire. There she created the role
of Tatiana in P. Tchaikovsky's ‘’Eugene Onegin’’, Mimi in ‘’La Bohème’’ and
Cio-Cio-San in ‘’Madame Butterfly’’. In 1931, she retired from the stage and
devoted herself to pedagogical work. She was a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin
University of Music in Warsaw . In 1930, she was awarded the gold cross of merit for her
contribution in the field of music and in 1955 the Grand Cross of the
Order of Rebirth of Poland.
