Luigi Ferroni (Bass) (Firenze 1885 - Florence ? 1962)





He began his career in 1904 and retired from the stage in 1952. He appeared at the famous Italian opera stages. In the 1914-16 seasons he appeared at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milano in ‘’Oro del Reno’’, ‘’Gioconda’’, ‘’Aida’’, ‘’Principe Igor’’ and ‘’La battaglia di Legnano’’. He created the part of the Orco on 2. 5. 1921 at the Teatro Costanzi of Rome in the premiere of P. Mascagni’s opera ‘’Il Piccolo Marat’’ under the management of the composer. In the 1930-1933 seasons he appeared inHolland, namely as Mephisto in ‘’Faust’’ of  C. Gounod, Mefistofele in the A. Boito’s opera of the same name and as Basilio in ‘’Barbiere di Siviglia’’. In 1932 he performed at the Teatro Comunale in Firenze as Hunding in ‘’Die Walkure’’. He worked later in Florence as pedagogue.
