Elizabeta Petrenko (Mezzo-Soprano) (Akhtirka, near Kharkov 1880 - Moscow 1951)



From 1902 to 1905 she studied singing at the St. Petersburg Consertvatory under I. I. Palechek, later she perfected her vocal art with Carolina Ferni-Giraldoni. From 1905 to 1915 she was a soloist of the St. Petersburg Mariinksy Theatre, where she made her debut as Dalila in ‘’Samson et Dalila’’. In the 1913-1914  she appeared at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. From 1915 to 1917 she sang at the National House in Petrograd, in the 1917-1918  season at the Theatre of Music Drama in Petrograd, from 1921 to 1922 she sang at the the Theatre of Music Drama in Moscow. She made guest appearances in ParisLondon (1911), Monte Carlo (1912), London (1913-1914). In 1908 she appeared opposite Enrico Caruso and Nellie Melba at the Grand Opera in Paris as Maddalena in ‘’Rigoletto’’.
