Aleksei Kanshin (Tenor/Bass) (? - France 1942)


                                                                Don Jose

From 1894 ro 1896 he appeared in the USA, then made his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Perfected his studies by taking lessons from Ioakim Tartakov. From 1913 to 1917 he was a soloist of the Theatre of Musical Drama in St. Petersburg, where he appeared as Don Jose, Herman and Parsifal. In 1917 made guest appearances in Odessa. After 1917 he performed as bass at the Teatro Alla Scala sharing roles with Ezio Pinza.
