Augusto Dianni (Tenor) (Roma 1873 - Lviv 1938)



After his education he appeared in different Italian stages (among other things in 1899 at the Teatro Argentina in Rome as Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’) and also guested in 1903 at Covent Garden, London as Turiddu in ‘’Cavelleria rusticana’’. A tour through Poland in 1903 had a such success that he was engaged by the opera house of Lviv and appeared in other opera theaters of Poland as a guest. In 1905 Dianni  made guest appearance in Odessa. He remained, in the end, completely in Poland, sang till 1918 regularly at the opera house of Lviv and after his retirement worked in this town as a vocal pedagogue.

    toda i found a record of augusto dianni at a flewmarket in cologne.
    "Viens mou bieu aime"(Chaminade) and "Viene"(L. Denza) on arena-record in a very good condition.
    i´ve never heared before of this forgotten opera-singer an i found first informations in your bock.
    i´m also a record-collector and i am interested in recordings of the acutic area especially songs "lied" recordings.
