Escamilio
The real surname of this singer was Braginsky. First he studied singing privately with Mikhail Medvedev, then from 1896 to 1901 at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory under the pedagogues S. Gabel and I. Tartakov. Additionally he studied also abroad during his visits (1904-1913). He made his debut in 1900 at the National Opera house of Ukraine as Valentine in Gounod’s ‘’Faust’’. From 1905 to 1908 he was a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg . In the 1908-1909 season he appeared at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow . From 1909 to 1911 Bragin againg performed at the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg . From 1911 to 1915 he appeared in operetta at St. Petersburg . Since 1914 Bragin made guest appearances in the cities of Russia . In the 1922-1923 season he sang in Berlin . From 1924 to 1928 in different opera houses of Germany . Since 1930 he devoted himself to teaching first in Odessa , then in Moscow , Frunze , Kiev , Tashkent and Baku .
