Arthur Jordan (Tenor)

First he appeared as baritone and was trained by Rutland Boughton, the founder of theGlastonbury School-Festival, which took place at the small village Glastonbury in Somerset,England. Then he changed to tenor after studying with the pedagogue Hermann Grünebaum and he was famous as an interpreter of the parts in R. Wagner’s operas. In the 1922-1923 season he sang at the Covent Garden parts like Siegfried in ‘’Nibelungenring’’ and Walther von Stolzing in"Meistersingern". He had a significant career especially for his appearances in R. Wagner's operas at the English operatic stages as well as at the concert hall.
