Louis Izar (Tenor) (Toulouse ? - ?)



He studied singing at the Conservatories of Toulouse and Paris under Engel and Isnardon. He made his debut at Nice (1923), where he stayed for two seasons. In 1925 he was engaged by the Opera-Comique in Paris. At the provincial opera houses he performed as Pinkerton in Puccini’s ‘’Madama Butterfly’’,  Jean in ‘’Le Jongleur de Notre-Dame’’ etc.At  Rouenhe sang in 1927 the role of Mime in ‘’Siegfried’’, her most famous role. After the World War II he organized opera tours at the South of France. Being the director of the Theatre du Capitole of Toulouse(1948-1968), he retired from the stage in 1949.
