Andreas Dippel (Tenor) (November 30, 1866 Kassel, Germania - May 12, 1932 Hollywood, California)

He was the son of a manufacturer. First he studied singing with Nina Zottmayr in Kassel, then with Julius Hey in Berlin, Alberto Leoni in Milan and Johannes Ress in Vienna. He made his debut in 1887 at the Stadttheater in Bremen as Lyonel in ''Martha''. In 1908, he became the joint manager of the Metropolitan Opera with Giulio Gatti-Casazza. He resigned his post in 1910, and from 1910 to 1913 managed the Philadelphia-Chicago Grand Opera Company, after which he formed the Dippel Opera Comique Company. He was known for his willingness to step into roles when his colleagues were ill and substituted for Jean de Reszke on several occasions. He had his own opera school at the Ithaca Conservatory of Music in the 1920s, and in his later years, worked in the movie industry as a voice coach and musical advisor. Married to the actress Anita Lenar.

Georg Anthes (Tenor) (Bad Homburg, Germania March 12, 1863 - Budapest, Hungary February 23, 1923)

He studied singing under Julius Stockhausen in Frankfurt a. M. and made his debut in 1888 at theStadttheater in  Freiburg i. Br. as Max in ‘’Freischütz’’. He appeared also in London (Covent Garden), Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt a. M., Leipzig and Holland. His repertoire included Lyonel in ‘’Martha’’, Siegfried in ‘’Nibelungenring’’, Assad in ‘’Königin von Saba’’, Manrico in ‘’Il Trovatore’’, Radames in ‘’Aida’’, Otello, Masaniello in ‘’La Muette de Portici’’, Faust, , Raoul in ‘’Les Huguenots’’, José in ‘’Carmen’’, Jason in ‘’Medea’’ and Eisenstein in ‘’Fledermaus’’. In 1913 he became a professor of the conservatoire in Budapest. Since 1920 he worked as the first director of the Budapest Opera.

Peter Cornelius (Tenor) (Labjerggaard, Denmark January 21, 1865 - Copenhagen, Denmark December 25, 1934)

His real name was Cornelius Petersen. He worked in a restaurant in Copenhagen and was discovered there by the tenor Nyrop, who gave him singing lessons. In 1892 Cornelius made his debut as baritone at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen as Escamillo in ‘’Carmen’’. Additionally he studied under by Hermann Spiro and Julius Lieban in Berlin. In 1899 he made his debut as tenor at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen in the part of as as Steersman in ‘’Fliegenden Holländer’’. He retired from the stage in 1922. He worked as vocal pedagogue in Copenhagen.

He began his stage career in 1882 at the Hoftheater in Hannover and appeared here till 1890. On 26. 7. 1882 he sang at the Bayreuth Festival in the premiere of ‘’Parsifal’’. Married to the dramatic soprano Josephine von Hübbenet.

Max Nicolaus (Tenor) (Dresden, Germany 5/2 1882 - ?)

First he studied philology and in 1906 he received the degree of a doctor . Then he studied singing and in 1910 made his debut at the Volksoper in Berlin. His repertoire included Tamino in"Zauberflöte", Belmonte in "Entführung aus dem Serail", Almaviva in ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’, Lyonel in ‘’Martha’’, the title role in  "Lobetanz" by L. Thuille, Steuermann in "Fliegenden Holländer", Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’ and Rodolfo in ‘’La Bohème’’. Later ge added to his repertoire also Max in ‘’Freischütz’’ and Francesco in ‘’Mona Lisa’’ of Max von Schillings.

He was the son of a doctor. Already as a boy he appeared as soprano. He studied singing inMunich with Schuegraf and made his debut in 1906 at the Bayreuth Festival as young sailor in ‘’Tristan und Isolde’’. During the 1920’s he devoted himself primarily to the operetta in Berlin andVienna.

Lina Romelli (Soprano) (Buenos Ayres, Argentina 1896 - ?)

She studied singing under Elvira Colonnese in Buenos Aires, then in Italy and made her debut in 1919 at the Teatro Casino in San Remo as Lucia di Lammermoor. In 1920 she appeared at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires (beginning role: Gerhilde in "Walküre"), where she appeared with success in the 1927-1930 seasons. She made guest appearances in Egypt, Italy, France andPortugal, but the center of her artistic career remained Teatro Colón. After 1931 she has appeared only in Argentina.
